Barbara Rose Johnson Lecture

The anthropology department welcomes Barbara Rose Johnson for a guest lecture on Friday, Nov 13 at 2pm in the ENV Bldg room 115.  Dr. Johnson is an environmental anthropologist who studies the relationships between environmental crisis and human rights.  Her current work explores the community dynamics of water resource management; and, the human environmental impacts of the United States Nuclear Weapons Testing Program as conducted in the Marshall Islands.

Jannell Robles

Dia de los Muertos Celebration – 11/2 @ noon

Please join the UNT Anthropology Department and the College of Public Affairs and Community Service (PACS) in our annual Day of the Dead Celebration.  Dr. Alicia Re Cruz, professor of Anthropology, will explain the way this day is celebrated in the state of Yucatán, México.  Participants can bring non-returnable photos and mementos of deceased loved ones to be blessed and placed on the altar.  November 2, Monday, at noon in Chilton Hall, 209.
